Ministry On-Ramp Program Guide

Every Nation Campus TEXAS Internship

Opening Scripture

14How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

– Romans 10:14–15

Section 1: Program Foundation

Program Definition

The ENC TEXAS Intern Program is a one to two semester unpaid internship program with ENC at UT Austin. Under the covering of Mosaic Church, it helps to prepare and evaluate intern candidates for optimum readiness in full-time campus ministry with Every Nation. Additionally, it helps to test and clarify whether other options besides full-time ministry are best for the intern. In any case, the program provides valuable leadership and ministry skills that are compatible with any life venture.

Vision and Mission

Our vision at ENC_TX is to invite students into a more vibrant relationship with Jesus that mobilizes them for a Gospel adventure that reaches the campus and touches the nations. We are committed to raising up students to:

  • ENGAGE the lost
  • ESTABLISH biblical foundations
  • EQUIP them to do the ministry
  • EMPOWER them to lead on their campus

Discipleship Philosophy

If we are to mobilize students for a Gospel adventure, our discipleship funnel will continue to empower more and more student small group leaders on campus. Additionally, many of the students we empower will also be funneled into ongoing campus ministry, not only by our intentional processes, but by God himself.

Clear Path to Ministry

We want to provide as clear of a path as possible for upper-class student-leaders and also for recent graduates to enter into full-time campus ministry. This path functions as a dynamic on-ramp to the healthiest and most effective start in the life of campus ministry.

That said, the on-ramp will also provide a testing and evaluation process that may function as an off-ramp if it is determined that such a course fits the intern and the ministry most appropriately. Above all, the process will provide the best clarification of the intern’s future direction while offering the greatest potential benefit to the campus ministry as well as to the intern, regardless of whether or not he or she decides to go full time subsequent to exiting the internship program.

Section 3: Pathway to Full-Time Ministry

New Staff Training Integration

Should the intern decide to enter into full-time ministry, she will launch into the Every Nation New Staff Training (NST) with a high amount of momentum and preparation without expending an undue amount of energy or influence in the process. Rather, the internship process will grow her in both energy and influence.

Strategic Approach to Partnership Development

The process should provide a path devoid of any ministry “false-starts,” ie: without asking the intern to raise partnership and “use her bullets” before she is properly trained to do so.

Program Outcomes

The intern will receive a quality leadership experience that’s relationally connected to the vital growth of our campus ministry, and will exit the internship program with a versatility of leadership and ministry experience that accelerates him or her into the next step, regardless of what that step is.

Extended Internship Options

A third and/or fourth semester of the internship is possible, if that fits the intern and the campus ministry best. This will be determined by Peter and the Mosaic leadership team, and would likely involve:

  • A layer of helping within the internship program
  • Beginning an internship project
  • Initiating Leadership 215
