Discussion Guide
Before We Begin
Our goal today is to explore how God gives us vision and empowers us to pursue it. As we discuss, let’s encourage one another and share openly about our journeys.
Opening Question
What’s the biggest dream or vision you’ve ever had for your life? How has that vision evolved over time?
God’s Vision for Us
Read Together: Habakkuk 2:2-3 (ESV)
“Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, so he may run that reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time, it hastens to the end it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay”
Additional Scriptures to Consider:
- Proverbs 29:18 – Different translations reveal different aspects:
- “Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint”
- “Without revelation people run wild”
- “Where there is no vision, the people perish”
- Hebrews 12:1-2 – Running our race with endurance
- Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trusting God’s direction
- Jeremiah 29:11 – God’s plans for our future
Vision in Action
When we spend time with God consistently and focused, He reveals His vision for our lives. Consider these examples:
- Henry Ford had a vision of a car for every family
- Bill Gates had a vision to put a computer in every home
- Most importantly, Jesus had a vision to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10)
- He lived this out through:
- Preaching the gospel to the poor
- Healing the brokenhearted
- Setting captives free
- Regular prayer and time with the Father
- He lived this out through:
